Eggnog is an iconic holiday treat that we enjoy every year and its flavors are perfect for adapting into a holiday themed breakfast! Our Gluten Free Eggnog French Toast recipe requires just a couple steps to make a gluten free and low carb French toast with the classic flavors of traditional eggnog.
All you need to make Gluten Free Eggnog French Toast:
First slice the thawed Bunz. Cut them top to bottom at a slight angle, making approx. 5 1-inch-thick pieces from each bun.
Next, make the batter by combining all the batter ingredients into a medium bowl and whisking until well blended.
Put the sliced Bunz into a medium dish so that they are in a couple layers and pour the batter over them.
Let the Bunz absorb the batter for a few minutes while flipping the pieces around in the dish, so that they are all evenly coated.
Heat skillet over medium heat.
Once the skillet is preheated, add a generous amount of butter to the skillet and put in the French toast pieces.
Cook the French toast until golden brown on both sides and remove from the pan once the center of the pieces just start to puff up.
Cook the rest of the French toast in batches, adding more butter as necessary. You will use a lot of butter as they soak up quite a bit!
Your Gluten Free Eggnog French Toast is ready to eat!
You can store leftover eggnog French toast in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
The batter can be made the night before and you can even soak the bread in the batter overnight (this isn’t necessary).
