Pizza is never going out of style. From the perfect crust to the melted gooey cheese, it’s hard to get enough! This recipe will teach you how to make gluten free pizza crust that the whole family will love. Let’s jump in!
The first step to eating cleaner is to learn what actually goes into making your food. Luckily, a lot of the information we need is required to be printed on nutrition labels. Unfortunately, when you start paying attention to nutrition labels you start to realize how many unnecessary ingredients are added to our food to make them last longer, look more appealing, and taste better. Learning to make quick and simple recipes with nutrient dense bases is one of the best ways to control what you are actually putting in your body.
To make gluten free pizza crust you will need:
When preparing the dough to make gluten free pizza crust, add all the measured ingredients, except for the boiling water and sesame seeds, and mix well.
Add boiling water and mix well, until the dough is smooth and even. The mix can be done by hand, in a stand mixer, or a food processor. When in doubt, mix longer it will not damage the dough.
At this point, the dough can rest in a covered bowl for four hours (for zero sugars) or if mixed in the afternoon it can rest covered (in cloth) overnight.
If this is your first time using this recipe we suggest dividing your dough into 3 equal pieces. This will give you a great thickness for three 11-inch pizza crusts.
Now it’s time to flatten the dough into discs! Roll or press the dough into 11-inch rounds using non-stick baking mats.
Note: Once you have the 11-inch crusts down, you can start to play with size and thickness to create your family’s perfect crust.
Now that we have our perfect rounds, it’s time to brush with olive oil and get it in the oven!
Brush the top of the crust with oil. Cover with a sheet of parchment, flip over, remove the non-stick mat. Brush the other side lightly with olive oil. Brushing oil on both sides of flattened dough ensures a nice, crispy crust!
Add your desired toppings and bake on parchment for 25-30 min at 335℉ (315℉ convection).
Note: For extra crispy crust, which is shown in the photos below, bake 5-10 min straight on oven rack prior to adding toppings.
