How to Make 2 Heavenly & Nutrient Dense Baguettes (For All The Bread Lovers Out There)

Freshly Nutrient Dense Baguettes

There is no substitute when it comes to freshly baked breads, especially large baguettes. Luckily, you don’t have to go without any longer! This recipe for nutrient dense baguettes is just what you have been searching for!

This recipe uses one bag of our All-Purpose Bread Mix and makes 2 nutrient dense baguettes!

Measure Your Ingredients For Your Nutrient Dense Baguettes

To create the perfect nutrient dense baguettes you will need:

  • 1 bag Fox Hill Kitchens Gluten Free All Purpose Bread Mix
  • 1¼ cups cool water
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup avocado oil
  • ¾ cup boiling water

 

If desired, add an additional 2 tbsp of oil or melted butter for a more tender (and higher fat) loaf.

Follow Instructions for All Purpose Bread Mix, Shape & Let Rest

When preparing the dough for nutrient dense baguettes, add all the measured ingredients, except for the boiling water and mix well. 

Add boiling water and mix well until the dough is smooth and even. The mix can be done by hand, in a stand mixer, or a food processor. When in doubt, mix longer it will not damage the dough.

Immediately shape by splitting the mixed dough into 2 equal parts. Line your standard loaf or baguette pans with parchment and shape the dough into “logs” the length of your pans.

At this point, the dough is ready to rest. Cover your nutrient dense baguettes and let rise for a min of 2 hrs and max of 4 hrs (4hrs, will bring dough to 0 sugars).

Baking Time

Bake in preheated oven at  335℉ (315℉ convection) for 1 hour and 40 minutes (shorter time may result in a disappointing wet collapsed loaf). It is very important that you DO NOT OPEN OVEN during the first 1.5 hours.

Note: Some bakers are experiencing hollow loaves when trying to make “large” loaves. We are currently recommending that loaves and baguettes use an even half batch rather than the previous 1lb 4oz size. (This is a work in progress. Please send any feedback!)

Make 2 Loaves or Baguettes

Our All-Purpose Bread Mix makes 2 freshly baked loaves or baguettes.
Cost: $.67

Instructions

  • Prepare mix as directed, except, reduce cold water to 1-⅓ cups and replace 1 TBS oil with ¼ cup oil. View basic bread mix instructions
  • Split the mixed dough into 2 equal parts.
  • Line your standard loaf or baguette pans with parchment and shape the dough into “logs” the length of your pans. Cover with plastic wrap.
  • Let rise for a min of 2 hrs and max of 4 hrs (4hrs will bring dough to 0 sugars). 
  • Bake in preheated oven at  335℉ (315℉ convection) for 1hr 40min. Shorter time may result in a disappointing wet collapsed loaf. DO NOT OPEN OVEN During the first 1.5 hours.

Notes

Note: Some bakers are experiencing hollow loaves when trying to make “large” loaves.
We are recommending that loaves and baguettes use an even half batch. If this works out well for you, feel free to try a larger loaf (perhaps ¾ of the batch) next time.
Use standard sized loaf pans, but if you can find slightly smaller pans that will result in a taller loaf.
